Katie Pelkey

Managing Director

katie@dadsgarage.com

  • Her eye for detail, determination to succeed, and ability to negotiate on behalf of and advocate for the arts define her exemplary work and career: Katie entered the industry in 2008 at Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, Georgia as resident stage manager before transitioning to an arts administration role to support the nonprofit’s operations. In 2019, she became general manager before transitioning to the role of managing director in 2020.

During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Katie secured $1.5 million in government relief for the theatre and positioned the theatre to expand despite the economic downturn plaguing the industry nationwide. Not only did the theatre’s robust programming and community engagement continue to grow, but Katie’s proactive foresight, coupled with that of theatre Co-Founders Anthony Rodriguez and Ann-Carol Pence, guided the theatre to expand its partnership with the City of Lawrenceville to construct the multi-million dollar Lawrenceville Arts Center—and see it through to successful completion.

In 2024, Katie joined Dad’s Garage as Managing Director. She is instrumental in the day-to-day business of the theatre, but also keeps our organization focused on the future of the performing arts, and how Dad’s Garage can continue to transform people, communities, and perspectives through laughter.

  • Before that, he was the Artistic Director, writer, performer, and playwright at Dad’s Garage Theatre. He has extensive experience both on and off the stage of some of the most influential institutions in America. He is an award-winning improviser, oversaw Audience Development at the Alliance Theatre Company, founded United Atlanta Improv—an organization dedicated to helping improv theatres around Atlanta—and was the winner of the 2018 Suzi Bass award for his play Black Nerd. However, his greatest accomplishments are being a dad to his daughter, Ava, and a loving partner to Annie.

Eve Krueger

Associate Artistic Director

eve@dadsgarage.com

  • Eve’s improvising credits include not only Dad’s Garage Theatre, but the Second City’s National Touring Company and Chicago location, The Annoyance, and Laughing Matters, but her professional experience extends beyond the world of improvised theatre: her career in the performing arts includes writing, improvising, performing original works, directing scripted and improvised productions, and teaching improvisation.

Eve’s teaching career began in the early 2000s and, in 2008, she gained accreditation as a Distance Learning Instructor. Eve’s dedication to education inspired her to pursue an MFA in Acting with a focus on performance pedagogy, and she further developed her teaching skills at an MFA program offered by Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC). As a result of this experience, Eve is committed to creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive spaces by bringing consent-forward practices to the comedy world.
