Insert Laugh Here

Kevin Gillese and Whittney Millsap lead the rest of the Dad’s Garage ensemble in an onslaught of short-form hootenanny directed not just to you, but the (phone) camera!

That’s right—this show isn’t just an on-stage improv show. It’s a live taping! Take a look behind the curtain and see what it means to be funny for the camera instead of a live audience (though we guarantee it will be funny for you, the live audience, too!)

Plays By Bots

Don’t fear the machines in this half-human, half-machine amalgamation of improv hootenanny! This hilarious hybrid show created by Rapid Fire Theatre’s Joe Vanderhelm comes to Dad’s Garage for two special performances sure to electrify your circuits and kickstart your guffaws!

The concept is simple: The collaborative, stage-and-screen-minded Dramatron (an AI developed by Kory Mathewson and Piotr Mirowski) generates the first half of a script based on a curated prompt. Our Ensemble actors—who have never seen this script before—must act out the written script live and, after the cold-read, must pick up where the bot left off by improvising the play’s concluding half! It’s unpredictable, unconventional, and unlike anything you’ve seen before.
