All weeks are Monday - Thursday 9-4 and Friday 9-1:00

We have two options for camps this summer! Make sure to see below why we think improv is so important for kids!

Improv: This camp focuses on learning basic improv skills or improving the ones you already have. Students do scenework, short form games, team building and more.

Improvised Theatre: In this camp, students work with our teaching artists to use basic improv skills to create a short play or collection of scenes by the end of the week.


Rising 3rd-6th Grades:

Session 1: 6/10-6/14 - Improv

Summer Camps at Academy Theatre

Dad’s Garage is heading to the Academy Theatre in Hapeville, GA. We will have two improv summer camps there this summer.

Both weeks are Monday - Thursday 9-4 and Friday 9-1:00

Summer Camp Tuition: $375

Session 1: 7/8-7/12 - Improv

Session 2: 7/15-7/19 - Improv

Why Improv? 

Students will learn the basics of improv, the power of “Yes, and”, how to collaboratively tell stories, and most of all they will have fun! 

Here are the skills your kid will be using:

  • Communication Skills

  • Comfort with Public Speaking

  • Working as a Team Towards a Shared Goal

  • Improved Listening Skills

  • Quick Thinking and Responsiveness

  • Spontaneity and Problem Solving

  • Resiliency and the Ability to Bounce Back

Sample Daily Schedule

Monday - Thursday:

9:00 - 12:30: Warmups, Skill Building, Snacks

12:30-1:00: Lunch

1:00-3:00: Improv Games and Scenework 

3:00-4:00: You may pick your camper up between 3:00 and 4:00. There will be games and activities throughout this time. Pick up must be before 4:00PM. 

 

Friday: 

9-12:30: Performance Preparation

12:30: Performance!

Note: After sharing time parents take their child with them. 

Scholarships:

If your family has financial need and your student is interested in attending a camp session, please try to complete this application 1 month in advance of your requested camp session. 

All scholarships will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis until funds are depleted. 

Refund & Cancellation Policy:

Dad’s Garage will refund tuition less the 25% non-refundable deposit for registrations canceled at least 1 week prior to the start of a class or camp. Registrations canceled less than a week prior to the start date will not be refunded. 

Dad’s Garage reserves the right to cancel a class (in instances of insufficient enrollment or for other reasons out of the organization's control). In this case, any tuition paid will be refunded in full, including the registration fee. Dad’s Garage will notify families 1 week prior to the beginning of class if cancellation is necessary.

No refund or make-up dates will be provided for classes canceled due to inclement weather.
