In this crash course students will learn the essentials of improv-to-sketch techniques, brainstorming, idea development, story structure and endings.  Class is led by 30-year comedy veteran Rich Talarico known for co-creating five resident shows at Second City and writing on late night shows like Saturday Night Live, Key & Peele and MADtv.

This class is limited to 12 students, so be sure to save your spot ASAP!

Join our intensive six-hour crash course led by Rich Talarico, a Peabody Award-Winning and four-time Emmy nominee with extensive experience writing for shows like Saturday Night Live, MADtv, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. In this workshop, you'll learn the tools to create hilarious bits for late-night and talk shows.



Students learn how to write monologue jokes, blackouts, desk bits and more. The collaborative environment encourages writers to discover their inner writing pro. 

This course will lead to stronger writing samples and lay the foundational skills to excel in the late-night and talk show game.

Rich Talarico is a Peabody® Award winner who boasts four Emmy® nominations, as well as four Writers Guild Award noms. Rich is a distinguished writer/producer known for his significant contributions to Key & Peele. Rich wrote K&P favorites Substitute Teacher, Racist Zombies, Karim and Jahar, Hatz, Teaching Center, Obama Greets, Black Ice and many more. Rich wrote and produced on some of the biggest comedy shows in late-night; MADtv, The Tonight Show w. Jay Leno, Saturday Night Live, and the critically acclaimed, Review.
