About BlackGround
BlackGround is an all-African-American comedy troupe of hilarious performers, amazing guests, killer comedy, and a fun-filled celebration of Blackness!
Each performance is inspired by a classic movie with all-white (or mostly-white) cast—think Star Wars or Indiana Jones—and the performers improvise what the Black people were doing during the movie! Come laugh, celebrate, and embrace the essence of Blackness in a way you've never seen before. Don't miss out on this unforgettable experience where laughter meets legacy.

It’s movie night! BlackGround and Bootleg Improv come together to create a movie ripoff so novel, so twisted, so inventive that you won’t be able to believe it isn’t the original version made into a comedy masterpiece!
And yeah, this show has a dress code: Come dressed as your favorite movie character. Any genre, any era - heroes, villains, extras, whatever. We want you to bring the magic of the movies to us using yourself as the canvas.
After the show, party with the cast AND a live DJ in the lobby!
About Bootleg Improv
Bootleg Improv is an improv troupe comprised of Cole Nowacki, Lila Mensing, Brad Kloth, and Courtney McCullar that remixes existing pop culture behemoth blockbusters into the bootleg versions of themselves you’ve never seen, and incorporating your suggestions to transform them into entirely new film experiences!
