Freestyle Improv Intensive (Rapping, Singing & Vibing) with Leslie Johnson

Freestyle Improv Intensive (Rapping, Singing & Vibing) with Leslie Johnson

Saturday, May 31st from 2-5 p.m.

Ready to unlock your inner freestyle beast? Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just looking to step outside your comfort zone, this high-energy, rhythm-fueled intensive is designed to help you rap, sing, and move with confidence—all while keeping it fun, fearless, and fresh!

Led by Leslie Johnson—a seasoned improviser, musical powerhouse, and Atlanta native—this class blends freestyle hip-hop, spontaneous melodies, and grounded improv scenes into one electrifying experience.

A Clark Atlanta University grad with a B.A. in television production, Leslie has worn many creative hats. She has worked in film, TV, and voice-over, but her love of music and improv runs deep. Before shifting to full-time performance, she hosted and produced an entertainment show where she interviewed music legends like Ms. Lauryn Hill, OutKast, Chaka Khan, and T.I.—just to name a few!

Her love for freestyle rapping, singing, and movement began in the early ’90s, where she mastered the art of off-the-top wordplay, crafting melodies on the fly, and using movement to bring stories to life. Now, as an Ensemble cast member at Dad’s Garage Theatre, she brings her deep well of improv experience and musical talent to help you find your voice, flow, and freedom on stage.

Leslie’s Favorite Three Things About Improv?

1️⃣ Feeling free—breaking past fear and self-doubt

2️⃣ Being vulnerable—tapping into real emotions and honest connections

3️⃣ Creating something beautiful, complex, and three-dimensional—all from a simple suggestion!

If you love hip-hop, singing, improv, and making magic in the moment, this class is for you. Let’s rap, sing, and vibe our way into something unforgettable!
