The instructor, Kevin Gillese, was the Artistic Director of Dad's Garage for a decade, and is also a prolific writer and performer, so he's got plenty of experience developing comedic material. Kevin Gillese is an award-winning Canadian comedy writer, performerand producer with more than twenty years of experience squeezinglaughs out of audiences. He has written or co-written ten plays thathave been produced at theatres in Canada and the United States.
He has written and produced a whole bunch of short films (including That Was Awesome, winner of the Audience Award for Best US Narrative at DC Shorts Film Fest), not to mention a few web series (like Hart of America, which was nominated for best comedy series at Rio Web Fest) and exactly one feature film: How To Ruin The Holidays starring Colin Mochrie and Amber Nash - currently available on Amazon. How To Ruin The Holidays won the Jury Award for Best Ensemble at the Rome International Film Festival and the Film Threat review raved: "You'll cry, you'll laugh, you'll cry laughing, it's inspired."
His debut comedy special, 7 Minutes in Kevin, will be released on Tubi this spring.
Kevin was the artistic director of Dad’s Garage Theatre in Atlanta for exactly ten years.
