Community Impact
On the days we manage to wake up before noon without a hangover, we actually manage to do some cool stuff in our community. The work we do at Dad’s Garage goes beyond the walls of our theatre, and we love to bring the awesomeness of improv to folks who didn’t even know they wanted the power of “Yes, and…”. Our community collaborations span everything from partnerships with local nonprofits, working with other theatres, our high school outreach program, and more. We are taking the Dad’s Garage brand to audiences everywhere, because we believe everyone deserves joy and laughter in their everyday life. This adds value to the work we do back at home, and establishes us as one of the most kick-ass organizations in our community.

Transforming Communities
Pay it Forward Ticket Program
We are grateful for the joy and laughter we get to experience through Dad’s Garage, and we want to share this gift with as many people as possible. We want to “Pay it Forward” and help more people experience the awesome fun of a Dad’s Garage show—especially if they’ve never been to the theatre. We collaborate with area schools, nonprofits and other community groups, to support the work that they are doing by providing complimentary tickets to their students, program participants and staff.
Imagine your life without the arts. Without beautiful museums, kooky art teachers, wild concerts, and –of course- lots of laughs at Dad’s Garage. Imagine not having a lifetime of these great memories to lift you up in hard times, and inspire you to lead a more colorful and creative future. For many people in our community, a lack of access to the arts is a reality. Through our “Pay it Forward” program, we can improve on the lives of countless individuals. It’s not just about the fart jokes—it’s about increasing access and affordability of the arts for everyone.

High School Outreach

Drama was always our favorite class, and we make it even better! Dad’s Garage’s High School Outreach program brings our unique brand of improv education directly into classrooms around metro Atlanta. We combine visits from our highly skilled instructors with materials that empower teachers to guide their classes through the basics of improvisation, teaching valuable skills like collaboration and confidence while providing a valuable early introduction to the arts.
"I participated in Dad's Garage High School Outreach program as a kid but I still remember the riveting feeling of getting my first laugh. More powerful though, was the feeling of not getting a laugh and figuring out why. That's a lesson I carry and use every day as a professional artist: if it doesn't work just yet, there's a reason for it that I can figure out and fix. Success isn't a mystery, it's a process." -Lauren Gunderson, Playwright.

And here’s the best part: all this incredible stuff for the kids doesn’t cost your school a dime. We’re always looking for new schools to partner with, so email Associate Artistic Director Ed Morgan at ed@dadsgarage.com for more information and give your students a whole new highlight of their day.

Host your next Fundraiser or Meeting at Dad's Garage

Raising money for a good cause? We want to help! To request tickets for your silent auction, please click here and let us know. If you want to rent a venue and/or provide entertainment for your fundraiser, you’re also in the right place! It’s hard for us to do straight-up rentals because we have shows every Tuesday - Saturday, but you are welcome to hold your event around one of our shows. Host a gathering in the lobby before the show starts (yes, there’s space for your silent auction, plus our full bar is nearby to loosen wallets) and you can even make a quick shout-out from the stage right before the show. All you’ll be responsible for is tickets for your folks, which we’ll give you a sweet deal on. If you’re interested in partnering with us in this way, please fill out the form below and we’ll get back to you ASAP! If you want us to come perform at your fundraiser, please check out the "hire us" page.
Are you a nonprofit looking for a place to host your next meeting? Look no further! We can provide your organization with the space to host supporters or your staff to help you dive further into the work that you're doing, at no cost. Email lara@dadsgarage.com for more details.
"The space was intimate, flexible and inspirational and was the perfect setting for a visioning conversation about the arts in Georgia."
-Karen Paty, Executive Director of Georgia Council for the Arts, Georgia Department of Economic Development
“Dad’s Garage was such a pleasure to work with and host our recent charity event! We loved the laidback atmosphere of the bar area downstairs, and it was the perfect combination of intimate space, but enough space, for tables of snacks and raffle items. The staff at Dad’s Garage were a great help throughout the evening, willing to assist with set up, adjust as needed, and usher guests upstairs to the improv show. Thank you Dad’s Garage, for making the 2016 Bottoms Up for Crohn’s & Colitis a wonderful success. We’ll be returning!”
-Shannon Primm, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, GA Chapter
“Dad's Garage offered a wonderfully irreverent space for our presentation Where the F is the River. Attendees were delighted to be in a space where we could explore serious topics but with a bit of fun. Dad's Garage was terrific to work with. We will be back.”
