Dad’s Garage oldheads will remember when we performed this vibrant musical in 2014 to the delight of critics and laypeople alike. Well, we’re doing it again, only bigger and better!

Karen Cassady and Travis Sharp of the Dad’s Garage ensemble bring Bev, Doug, and their disastrously beautiful musical creation to life onstage!

The Plot

GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL! is a two-person show within a show—this comedically conceived, choreographed, scored, and written theatrical romp brings to life the (allegedly) improvised two-man version of best pals Bev and Doug’s magnum opus, GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL!, as they dazzle an audience of potential producers and investors at the most outrageous, bombastic, and melodically catchy backers’ audition ever conceived on The Great White Way.

At first glance, this explosively funny and ingenious spectacle is about Johann Gutenberg and the creation of the printing press (or, at the very least, it’s about what Bev and Doug retained about him after a five-minute scroll of Google search results), but it’s really about the hilarious heights achieved by the love two best buds have for one another in the pursuit of a crazy, off-the-wall dream.
